If you love the trails this is the house for you. The Green Mountain Trail, of the Aska Trail System, crosses the driveway with one direction leading you down to Lake Blue Ridge and the other connecting to over 16 miles of trails. Grab your bike or hiking shoes and get on the trail without ever moving your car! Then come back and enjoy a fire in any of the three fireplaces while relaxing in the mountains.
Great shops, restaurants, and wineries are not far away as the drive to downtown Blue Ridge is only 7 miles. Likewise, the marina is only 7.5 miles away. Additionally, there are numerous fishing, rafting, and outdoor adventures all around. There really is something for everyone in Blue Ridge and The Day Hike provides excellent access to it all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Day Hike, the property was clean, the description did not do it justice in that it was even more beautiful in person. The large kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths worked great for us and our friends on spring break! We could be spread out to where we had separate space when we needed it but also we could spend time together as a group when we wanted! We highly recommend the Day Hike, and look forward to our next trip to Blue Ridge and staying at the Day Hike!

The Day Hike is a beautiful cabin with amazing views. The cabin is exactly as described probably even better than expected! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our only remark if you arent used to mountain roads just prepare yourself for a little adventure but the drive up the mountain is well worth it!

Like most of the previous reviews, weve got nothing but good things to say about this lovely home. Everything was spotless, amazingly well-stocked, beautifully appointed, and scenic. We used both outdoor fireplaces (bring your own firewood, kindling, and paper) and the indoor gas fireplace. Its actually bigger and more beautiful than the pictures suggest. The beds are very comfy, plenty of good quality outdoor seating and even the towels are extra plush and plentiful. Yes, the road up to the house is narrow and gravelly, but if caution is applied youll be fine. The last half mile is very steep and narrow, but paved. No sweat, really. We drive a CRV with front-wheel drive. We will be back for sure.

This cabin is by far the best cabin we have ever rented. The drive in is through a forest area and it makes driving in or out a pleasure to see. The cabin itself is gorgeous, the architecture and craftsmanship is so above what we have seen in many rentals over the past eleven years. Our stay was pure luxury and our view was amazing. There are windows upon windows of views. Even though there is a minimal amount of other cabins in this development you feel as though you are alone on the mountain. This cabin could easily accommodate three couples and still maintain privacy for everyone. Furnished and decorated with not only beauty but comfort in mind. If you have the opportunity to get into that master en suite you probably won't be in any hurry to leave. A wonderfully designed bath on one side and access to the deck by the fireplace on the other. I know most families now days include pets but having allergies I appreciated the cabin being pet-free. We have never stayed in the same cabin twice but we are definitely renting here again! Thank you for providing such a beautiful cabin our stay was our best vacation yet.

This cabin is gorgeous!!!! We were pleasantly surprised by the high-end/luxurious furniture, dishes, etc. The outdoor decks are humongous and also have a ton of seating, along with 2 fireplaces. The two-mile drive to the cabin (up the mountain) is mostly gravel and gave us a little bit of a scare the first time. The cabin is about 25 min. from Mercier orchard and 50 min. from BJ Reece. The beds are comfy, there is no game room, but this cabin is great for nature enthusiasts and those who want to relax and get away from it all.

Wow! Let me say this is the first time a place looks better than the pictures. The interior is gorgeous and new. All the furniture and decor make this cabin feel luxurious and expensive. It looks professionally designed. The location is great. It has trails as soon as you walk outside. The views are to die for. Overall it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Im definitely staying here again.
